AND....keep working on your lines! (This photo is from another drama club's version of The Grunch.) Costume Clarification #1 The following students should plan to leave their costume pieces at school after this Friday. Please label all clothing! Estrellitas (t-shirts, shoes) Críticos (jackets, hats, i.d. badges, notepads) John R., Anna O., Evelyn C. Sophia, Winnie (jackets, hats, ties, etc.) Critic's chorus members who wear something other than regular kid clothes Whoover Drama kid black shirts can hang on the costume rack The costumes listed above will hang on the costume rack. The students listed above should bring a labeled box or plastic bin in which they can keep their accessories and their regular clothes and shoes while they are in costume. These boxes/bins will be stored at school until after the final performance. Please send the labeled box/bin with your child this Friday. Whoover Drama students, paparazzi, reporters, taxistas, Grunch, Willie, and Millie will wear their regular clothes. They should wear the same outfit for this Friday's rehearsal and each of the performances. They are not required to bring a box or bin, because they will arrive in costume for each performance. Costume Clarification #2 Whoover Drama kids should plan to wear a black t-shirt under their regular shirt. This is their scene 10 & 11 costume -- they know what that means. Parent Volunteers Needed! I need volunteers for the following jobs: Parent supervision on Tuesday, Feb. 18; 3:00-6:00 pm Pre-show preparations (hair, make-up, crowd control, etc. for all 4 shows); 1 hour before showtime Backstage help during the shows (all 4 shows); help with entrances, microphones, crowd control Make photo display boards -- This involves typing up student information and attaching it and student photos to the boards (boards and photos provided) - often a 2-person job Lobby decoration for Friday & Saturday night - help decorate the foyer in front of the gym; involves arranging display boards and some decorations on tables. Party Planner--We need at least one other parent to help plan the after-show party (Saturday at 8:00 in the cafeteria); pick up party supplies and cake I'd really appreciate it if you'd contact me as soon as possible if you'd like to help. Here is the updated rehearsal calendar. Please have your child attend this Friday if possible. Rehearsals are going well. We are, however, just two weeks from our first performance! Please help your child with his/her lines. Starting Monday, February 10, no scripts will be allowed on the rehearsal stage--lines must be memorized! Parent Supervisors needed for all of the remaining rehearsals! Please contact me if you can help. Thanks! I've uploaded the audio recordings of the songs for the show. They are amateur recordings, but should be helpful for practicing the songs and dances. We are so fortunate that two former Drama Club members, Annabella and Anna, are helping with the choreography and the singing! The recordings are on the music page. Costumes
Students can start bringing in costumes this week or next. All students must wear their complete costume at the Friday, February 14 rehearsal. Each family is responsible for getting their child/children's costume(s) unless otherwise noted below. When possible, borrow costume pieces from friends or family; no need to go out and buy new items. For students wearing "regular or school" clothes, I'd like them to wear the same outfit for each show. If your child wears "regular or school clothes" and you'd like your child to keep that costume at school, we'll keep it on the costume rack. LABEL ALL CLOTHING THAT YOU SEND TO SCHOOL FOR THE SHOW!
