Monday - No school = No rehearsal

2:15 - 5:00 Rehearsal
4:00 - Monday student rehearsal ends (Students can stay, if needed.)
5:00 - Thursday student rehearsal ends

Wednesday -
9:00 - Show #1 (Monday students)
12:45 - Show #2 (Thursday students)
    2:30 - Take down the set

Thursday
  No rehearsal
Move set, props, and costumes to Middle School at 4:00

Friday -
5:30 - Stage Managers arrive
5:45 - All other students arrive
6:30 - Show time! (Cast party immediately after the show)

Still missing one prop:
We are still looking for a judge's gavel like the one pictured to the right. If you have one that we could borrow, please send it to school this week. Thank you!

Students will be asked to arrive at the Middle School between 5:30 and 6:00. I will include this call time schedule in next weekend's information.

we will be finishing set pieces and props and
setting up the staging in the gym.

Costume Information

ALL STUDENTS need a black shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Most students have more than one job, and will put on their costumes only when they are in character.
Ears and noses for animals will be provided by the Drama Club.

Costumes should to be brought to school on Monday, January 26 or Thursday, Jan. 29. Costumes will then remain at school until after the final performance.
Please refer to the charts below to see what costume pieces families need to provide.

Props & Set PIeces
We are in need of large pieces of cardboard or large appliance-sized cardboard boxes. Drop them off at school any time.

We also need to borrow the following items, and will return them to you:
- a judge's gavel
- a mailperson's bag, or a canvas bag that could be made into a mailbag
- toy guitars

A few tips for memorizing lines:
1. Have your child write out their lines, including the line before each of their lines.
2. Your child can record themselves reading the dialogue, leaving blank space where their lines are. They can go back and listen to the recording, inserting their lines in the blank spaces.
3. Read over the scenes several times, imagining the story while doing so.

The PSI Drama Club season will begin next week!

Students in grades 3-5 are invited to join Sra. Wieber, Srta. Carazo, and Srta. Fernández to prepare and perform in this year’s production. Please look over the calendar to be sure that your child can attend all rehearsals and performances before committing to this activity.

Registration will open on Thursday, October 23. The link to register will be in the PSI Family Newsletter. Registration will be open for 2 weeks.

Tuesday - Tech rehearsal
-Monday students will rehearse first and can be picked up at 4:00.
I will have activities for them to do until 5:00, if they need to stay until then.

Volunteers
We still need volunteers for the following dates:
Feb. 13 - to set up the stage at PSI, 5:00-8:00 pm
Feb. 18 - Supervision during rehearsal, 2:00-5:00
Feb. 19 - Operate the sound board and microphones during the shows, 8:00-2:00
Feb. 19 - 8:00-10:00 Supervision and pre-show prep
Feb. 19 - 11:45-3:00 Supervision and pre-show prep
Feb. 20 - 4:00 Transport items to Middle School
Feb. 21 - Lobby and cast party
Feb. 22 - Load set and props into vehicle and transport items to PSI on Monday or Tuesday

Rehearsals
Rehearsals end at 5:00 this week.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, ALL students will stay for rehearsal.
Monday students should be picked up at 4:00.
Thursday students should be picked up at 5:00.

Call Times for Evening Performances

Costumes
ALL students need to wear black pants or leggings and a black shirt. The black shirt should have no logos or words. If necessary, the shirt can be worn inside out. Students should come to each performance dressed in their black clothes. The Drama Club will provide most of the costumes.

The following characters do need to provide some of their own costume:
Narrators
Students who play drums or percussion
Aunt Osa
Sra. Cinco
Rey/Reina (King/Queen)
Announcer

Props & Set PIeces
We are in need of the following pieces to bring our show to life. If you have any of these items that we could borrow, please label them with your name and send them to school. They will be returned after the performances. Thanks!

Wicker baskets that characters can carry to a farmer's market
Kente cloth to decorate the stage
A plain doll, possibly made of wood or a soft material
a small watering can

These items won't be returned:
-wood-grain contact paper
-large pieces of cardboard or large cardboard boxes
